Green-Squad
Green-Squad is a former American-Union marine unit that is now the premier human special forces unit within the Magnetic Assembly.
The Squad has largely been broken up after the New Years Revolution on Hawking, with many members being moved into training and leadership roles within the new government to help with forming a more coherent military force. Members of the squad are still sometimes assigned to the ship or Marshal service, and the squad occasionally reformed in full for operations that require their full talents.
Unlike the various Robotic, High Cyborg, and Echoni units available to the Magnetic Assembly, Green-Squad caters specifically to Humans and Low-Cyborgs with gear and equipment focused on their specific characteristics. This often means Green-Squad specializes on executive security tasks such as developing defensive plans or operations in highly complex environments. This often includes personal protection, EOD, and combat-engineering tasks that are too complex for Echoni or simple robots.

History
Green-Squad has its origins with ISOC starting in 2300 as an airpower squadron responsible of transport operations around the planet of Hawking. The Squadron would be based out of Fort Barrera, and would be assigned a range of aircraft, SSTOs, and spacecraft.
By 2310 the squadron had undergone major changes. With the increasingly fully-automated aircraft employed they had largely been relegated to supporting roles, often working with Heram Wazu for exploration of the planet Hawking. They would need to 'walk around' more as boots on the ground to make better use of the limited manpower and increasingly effective flight automation. This would see the Squadron be reformed as a combat-engineering group in 2310, and see them assigned to The Edward Deming as a multi-purpose security force.
This group would continue to work closely with Heram Wazu up until 2319 when they were brought in to assist with the New Years Revolution, helping free Geiben Folami from house-arrest and then arresting various American Union loyalists on Jan 1st. They would also participate in the battle of Reiss, ensuring the American Union was unable to secure a foothold in the Hawking system after having been expelled.
Currently the squad has been assigned to Fort Barrera, to try and rebuild a military force from what was left after the New Years Revolution.
