• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Rozier

Rozier

Named for Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier, Rozier is a gas giant in the Hawking Star System. Its position in the system makes it a less attractive destination than Bruno for resources, but it still maintains a large amount of useful gasses.

Type:Gas Giant
System:Hawking
Stellar Radius:34 AU's from the star
Surface Gravity:~12.6 g
Length of Day:18.8 hours
Length of Year:- days
Population:~5,000 people
Satellites:Many
Orbital Stations:Few
Affiliations:The Magnetic Assembly

History

The station-states being setup around Rozier to harvest its gasses for fusion fuels ended up collapsing in 2320 after the New Years revolution disrupted the transnational companies that controlled the stations. it wouldn't be until late 2324 when private investors purchased Flagler station.

Locations

Rozier is on the outermost edges of the Hawking System, and would be a major source of fusion fuels for outer-system development once the main focus of stellar construction efforts starts to shift away from Bruno.

Wellhead Orbit

The Wellhead Orbit is a highly elliptical path that dips into the upper atmosphere of Rozier before coming back up towards the stations in the management orbit. This cycle lets stations harvest useful gasses from Rozier and transport them to an orbit that's better for shipping and processing.

  • Walker-Neer Station - Gas Harvesting Station
  • Gardener-Denver Station - Gas Harvesting Station
  • Pettie-Bone Station - Gas Harvesting Station

Management Orbit

The main population center for Rozier, the management orbit is positioned high up near geostationary. It is an easy orbit to get to from other planets in the system, which makes it well suited to act as a trade hub.
  • Ankin Station - A storage and centrifuge complex designed to take raw gasses harvested from Rozier and separate them to their component parts
  • Brightwell Station - Workshops and large laser arrays meant to accelerate cargo in system.
  • Flagler Station - Originally a management and recreation station
  • Natureclear Garden - A farming station that provides most of the food and biological materials in system
  • Port Roz - Mostly Workshops for ship repair, and mass drivers for launching gas containers further into the system.

Francois Orbit

Named for François Laurent d'Arlandes, this is the largest moon of Rozier
  • Francois Basecamp - Exploratory mining operation on the surface, abandoned in 2320 shortly after the New Years Revolution.
  • Hurricane Habitat - Ocean Resort station, abandoned in 2320 shortly after the New Years Revolution.
