Flagler Station
"The station itself was a bit smaller than what Alex implied, the spherical main structure only being about 7km in diameter with another 1.5km or so of docking areas and service structures extending from the main hub on either side. Unlike the stations most were used to seeing, this one lacked solar panels or mirrors of any kind. This far out the star was so distant that gathering energy was better left to reactors than to light. There were other stations nearby, but these other stations had ships docked at them, large transports arriving and departing, and spinning gravity sections… while Flagler had none of that. The station would have seemed entirely abandoned if it wasn’t for the automated docking system reaching out to Toshrio’s ship, giving them instructions on how to close the distance so drones could bring them in for final docking. The associated docking fees and the like were also presented… there was at least someone down there keeping things running." - Threat Level Midnight, Toshiro Arc, Chapter 2
With the New Years Revolution in 2320, interstellar management became even more difficult for the Jupiter based Fielle-Drake Energy. With the American Union clamping down on anyone doing business with the Magnetic Assembly over the next few years, Fielle-Drake looked to liquidate its entire position in the Hawking system along with all of its assets. A deal would be struck with Alex Burning in 2323 to purchase Flagler Station at fire-sale prices.
Alex Burning and her partner in this endeavor, Toshiro Yuki, have been working on re-establishing the station.
The station itself sits in the management orbit of Rozier, a relatively easy to reach high orbit around the gas giant.
Lines of Business
Gas Storage
Extra space in the station has been setup for long term gas storage, helping with product overflow from the various stations in the nearby wellhead orbits. This provides a small but stead stream of income for the station
Weapon Sales
Small Arms produced by Hilda Olander that are then sold to individuals mostly outside of Assembly controlled space stations.
Major buyers include the Golden Turbans, a Chongwu Liberation group that operates in the Hawking System.
