History

Compressed air systems have been used as tools by humans for hundreds of years. In the Magnetic Assembly the tool is far more rare, as pressurized environments just weren't the most common place where tools were used. Compressed air weapon systems have always been somewhat of a niche option, and in 2319 Stellar Defense and The Magnetic Assembly collaborated on a compressed air tool that could be sold in a wide range of markets for a variety of uses.

In 2320 the New Years Revolution would put the future of the product into question as the Magnetic Assembly parted ways with the American Union based Stellar Defense. Small numbers of the system had already been produced for testing and evaluation, and some had found their way into the hands of consumes and special forces units both in the Hawking System and the American Union in general.

Layout

The base system is a fairly simple bullpup configuration with an airtank and pressure regulator in the stock and a trigger assembly in front of that. There is a simple knob to adjust the pressure on both sides of the stock, and a safety selector above the trigger. A modular rail on top allows for the addition of an optic and a clip on the front allows for additional barrel segments to be clipped into place.

There are numerous different attachments for the system that can use compressed air to fire everything from tracking devices, to tranquilizer darts, to beer cans, to grappling hooks.

Usage

The core weapon system can still push out a hand-loaded object, however the weapon system is intended to be used with various clip on attachments that turn the compressed air system into a more reasonable launcher.
