History
The Mag-19 was originally developed by Green-Squad and the Magnetic Assembly in 2316 to try and further ease electronic warfare systems down to infantry-portable size. It was expected that drone launcher systems similar to the ones employed by Green Squad would also start finding their ways into the hands of opposing forces, and that a man portable EMP system would be useful in disabling such weapons. The weapon would see deployment in small numbers, though without a peer-level threat to fight against the weapon saw little use.
Layout
The weapon has a fairly basic layout with a thumb switch selector for safety, tight beam, and wide beam. A battery pack in the stock houses the MAD-34 batteries that can be pulled out as a stack. The top of the weapon also has a 3d red dot sight that can be projected for use above the weapon.
Usage
The Mag-19 is intended to be used against small drones that carry minimal shielding against directed radiation systems. The powerful beam is suitable for knocking out the electronics of such systems quickly and without requiring very accurate aim from the operator.
Against larger targets like military vehicles, the weapon is often ineffective against their hardened electrical systems.
