• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Granichny Belt

The Granichny (Russian: Граничный - Eng: [of the] Border) belt is located between the orbits of Gagarin and Muromets, in the outer-rim of the Yasny system. Aside from Muromets, Granichny signifies the border of the system, hence its name. Seemingly an ordinary asteroid belt, it is home to the larger rocks within the system - planets that have collided during formation were ground into smaller pieces over time and remained here. Pale asteroids of the Pepelnitsa belt can be encountered here; evidence of Gagarin displacing them from the mid-rim.

Installations

There is a single outpost this far out in the system, aptly named 'Granichnaya' station. Much like its Angar cousins in the Pepelnitsa belt, this station hosts a myriad of mining operations on the surrounding asteroids - though that is only its secondary purpose. Primarily, Granichnaya station is an observatory set up to survey future colonisation of the outer Yasny system, as well as a range of other projects which are classed top secret. Aside from that, it facilitates transit to the unnamed dwarf planets in the outer belt. With some residential infrastructure available and recreational facilities on offer, the station is not as isolated of a location as its placement might lead one to believe; and is quite popular with blue-collar workers.
