"You're welcome," Bee told Shade, before looking to Ngao and raised an eyebrow, not sure what he was asking.
Ngao looked back at Shade for any sign those feline senses were picking up on anything. Perhaps those divine senses picking up on even silenced signals. He mouthed the words "S-O-R-R-Y" then pointed down at Shade.
Contrary to that, Shade's hand was hunting for the plate again, and stealing a piece of cold hard bacon, the crunch of which did not sound appetizing.
Bee furrowed her eyebrows and opened up the nightstand, pulling out a pad of paper and a pen, handing them to Bark. "You sure you don't want Ngao to go get fresh food?" she asked, turning to look at Shade.
"That is alright," came the reply from the darkness, "I do not wish to be a further bother," Shade said as she returned the weapons-grade bacon to the plate. It seemed to be unphased. Instead she stole yet another cold waffle, and began to nibble on it in her cave.
Ngao raised an eyebrow and wrote as quiet and hence as slowly as possible in the hopes her feline ears didn't pick up on anything. "Tell her you're sorry. Tried earlier for you. More feeling." However in the vain hope of playing dumb or perhaps leaving them some time to talk things out. "I'll go and get fresh food Shade. That bacon didn't sound good..." He smiled and placed a few pats at her side. No touch, but he hoped it was enough for her to feel his closeness.
She flinched, but her tail swished to brush against his arm as he pat her. The sound of cold waffle nibbling continued. "...if you wish," she conceeded.
Ngao will have smiled at feeling her tail brush against him, which he took that as a sign she appreciated the gesture or perhaps was giving up because it was good for her. He made his way out once more only putting on the tie and making his way down for more food.
After Ngao had left, hating the lingering silence, which admittedly had all of a second to form, Shade quietly asked, "Did he look attractive with only the tie on? I was too upset to really look at him like that."
"Yes," Bee said with a chuckle, putting her datapad to the side. "Yes he is." She shook her head and said, "Sorry for throwing you off so much that you couldn't enjoy that. I should have realized what you wanted when I woke up and not tried to muscle in."
Shade removed the pillow, turning her head to look at Bee. "I was..." she sighed. "I thought it would be quick, easy, just something I wanted to try. I had heard of it before, seen it on a few... accidental occasions, and it seemed a fitting repayment for the... enjoyable evening previously. I did not think you would be a factor. I apologize for forgetting your presence in the light of my passions."
"Apology accepted. Kind of hard when you have a naked Ngao just laying there," Bee said, returning Shade's gaze with a smile. "But yeah, in the future, if I'm sleeping and you want some alone time with him, could you take it to another room? Haven't woken up to a man's moaning I wasn't the cause of in a bit. And back then joining in was welcomed." She shrugged. "Not that excuses my actions. Just explains them."
"Was that where the issue lied?" Shade asked. "Was it that you were not the cause of his pleasure that angered you, or was it the awakening itself?"
"A little bit of both?" Bee said, trying to remember how she felt when she woke up. "And it was more that I was missing out on fun sex times than I wasn't the one sucking him off. I do enjoy being the source of pleasure, don't get me wrong, but as long as I'm around I'm usually happy. How about you? Were you mostly pissed off that I was butting in or something else?"
"It was because you appeared emotionally injured by the act," Shade said with a huff. "Hurt, as Ngao said, and I saw no reason to care at the moment. I was... uninformed. It seemed like an obstacle to enjoyment, and even then it seemed to have resulted in both of us finding enjoyment in his body. It was he that put a halt to it all, for your sake presumably, and it annoyed me."
"Funny, I was thinking he was stopping for yours," Bee said with a chuckle. "I was trying to make him cum all over your face after all."
"It would have been a new experience," Shade sighed. "I might have even enjoyed it, or at least been amused." Shade flipped over, laying on her back and looking at the ceiling. "So... in a certain way this is... his fault," Shade surmised.
"He does have a particular way of wanting this love triangle to work out," Bee said, looking over at the cat-type. "And I was putting in a competitive, and sort of vindictive, element to that moment that our sweet puppy didn't like. So, I'd say 10% both of you waking me up, 60% me for being a bitch and not waiting for my turn, 30% him wanting things to be more cooperative and wanting to not be treated like a battle to be won. Maybe things would have worked out if he'd just gone along with it, but that's a road not taken." She put a hand next to Shade's and looked up at the ceiling. "Feel free to assign that first percentage how you like. He is a loud moaner."
"I could pin the blame on him," Shade said with a chuckle. "As something of an insult. Or, I could pin the pride on myself and imply I have a magical touch." She shrugged. "I'm certain the opportunity to try again will appear."
"Could ambush him when he comes back," Bee said with a smirk, looking at Shade. "Get him when his arms are holding the plates and can't reply in kind."
"But..." Shade mewled, "I am actually quite hungry. Not in an innuendo sense, I really haven't eaten since... lunch, yesterday."
"Fair enough," Bee replied, poking at the old bacon before putting the plate to the side. "Good thing you didn't follow me though. Ran into some Crusaders down in the cafeteria earlier. Was annoying that I couldn't put them in their place without my cover coming into question."
Shade whined, quieting down again. "I apologize. If things were different, if I had contained myself, there would be no social threat. I take responsibility for that. I trust it was relatively civilized?"
"It wasn't until Breaker showed up," Bee said, shaking her head before sliding down next to Shade, though still giving the other woman some space. "But no, it's not your fault. I was an idiot and didn't take my datapad with me and thus didn't get the heads up from the outside teams. The punks got a little handsy, but like i said, Breaker showed up and put them in their place. Stayed in cover too, thank goodness."
Shade's eyes widened, a distant look of horror in her eyes before they narrowed to insidious slits. "Is weapons dealing not enough for these people? Is committing a crime for one of any of the dozens of reasons to commit a crime, some understandable, others not, simply not enough? Must they too excrete a vileness the likes of which is born only of darkness? They are lucky only in that they found you, who has a shred of mercy in her heart. My cover is... I am not that good an actor in stressful situations. I may have made their lives unbearable."
Shade exhuded an unexpected vitriol, hands clenching and unclenching, claws flexing. "Death itself is too ill-fitting. Instead an eternity in a server bank, will and personality stripped from them, as they exist to serve basic and unglamorous functions, would be more fitting," she hissed in a low hiss, no longer looking at the ceiling but beyond it.
"I just kept in mind what we're going to do them tonight," Bee said, looking at Shade with a concerned look. She moved her hand to bump into the cat-type's claws for a moment. "I won't let them do anything to you. I promise."
Shade's eyes focused again, looking down to Bee's hand with a pensive look. Very slowly she urged her hand into Bee's, the claws remaining but angled away. "I would not let them anyway. I have a gun now. I am above them all regardless. One may have even made the mistake of augmenting themselves. They might as well offer their souls to me then. I can find every facet of their lives online, leads to their places of work and homes, I can turn their very houses against them. They may enter an elevator only to be electrocuted. What a terrible accident that would be," she whispered. Her breathing had quickened, a rage in her eyes until she took a deeper breath. She looked away from Bee.
"I reciprocate the promise tenfold," she said with a sniffle. "I will see into their very thoughts and make their own minds their prisons, those that seek to harm you."
"Thank you," Bee said, turning so she laid on her side and moving her other hand to hold Shade's, slowly rubbing the back of the cat-type's hand. "I gotta say, I do love the tech-witch or goddess angle you got going on. Especially because I know it has actual weight behind it."
Somewhat bashfully Shade turned similarly, facing Bee with a shy smile. "It... It's authenticity allows me a certain safety net of personality. It cannot be entirely an act because it is something I can quite handily do. Not that it is an act, I don't think it is... but I have noticed I am not, well the sentiment is not common. So, I can only assume either I am acting without realizing, or... I am just different. I am not a psycologist. All I am sure of is my abilities allow grandiose promises, such as that one."
"Having confidence in your abilities is a good thing," Bee said with a smile, her hands continuing to rub Shade's. "We'll work on giving you confidence in other areas. On that front, how'd you enjoy last night? Hope I wasn't an obstacle to enjoyment like I was this morning."
Immediately, Shade's eyes looked away shyly. "No, quite th-the opposite..." she said quietly, as if uttering a secret. "I've never felt that before. Not in any way that counts. I have no words for how much I felt last night. I did not think it was possible for me to feel that with anyone."
