The subject is an uncontained hyperphysical object known by several different names, with common designations including "The Tree of Life", "Yggdrasil", "The World Tree", "Cosmic Tree", "Yaxche", "La Ceiba", "The Tree of Knowledge", "The Tree of Wishes", and of course, "Odhrom'nimloth" courtesy of our Aos'Si associates. The subject is invisible, with its non-corporeal body sprawled across the Milky Way Galaxy, starting from the center or "Null" and divaricating outwards. These portions of the subject's body in turn are referred to as either "branches" or "roots" across civilizations, continuing the tree analogy. Each branch always begins or ends with a Node in a star system which is typically of interest in some form or another.
This pattern of node, branch, star system, node, branch, star system continues to repeat as the subject grows in size. Containment of the subject and its effects are theoretically possible, given records held by the Aos'Si indicating that this has occurred in the past, and potentially numerous times. However, the subject's ability to facilitate FTL travel at rates significantly greater than conventional drive or superluminal engine options continues to be a very strong incentive not to.
To summarize:
- The subject is an invisible, incorporeal, hyperphysical object
- The subject sprawled across the Milky Way Galaxy
- The subject branches out from the center in a complex network
- The subject's branches begin and end in a Node
- The subject's Nodes can be found in star systems that are typically of interest
- The subject facilitates faster than light travel
