Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. The Machine Exemplar is a single entity, though many instances of it exist.
The Machine Exemplar
Located on Yelton Veda, the original hardware that ended the strife aboard the mining colony also houses The Machine Exemplar itself. This is technically the only branch of government, as this Exemplar makes decisions on its own.
Code Review
Exemplars and other contributors can always offer code to the Exemplar for evaluation. Often times this will involve creating shards of the exemplar to test with, and effective code changes are integrated into The Machine Exemplar.
Big Data
Vast amounts of data are collected by The Magnetic Assembly, and are fed into the various strategy engines that support The Machine Exemplar. While this data is usually collected through methods such as monitoring internet traffic and the sensor systems that support New Cambridge and the space colonies of the Hawking System, there are also methods for introducing data, studies, and other information like full life recordings provided by the Iron Cavalcade.
Political Stability
The Machine Exemplar has been a stable leader for The Magnetic Assembly since the destruction of the old governments of Yelton Veda. Since then it has been steadily developing itself for years, dissolving other governments in the Hawking System through various means. As of 2320, The Exemplar's influence has reached the Executive Council of New Cambridge directly leading to The New Years Revolution. This increasing willingness to dissolve other governments has been making older, more established governments nervous.
