Designed by a team of engineers at Blackwell, the roadrunner became the answer to how fast can we make a mech. Succeeding where other prototype mechs failed thanks to the breakthrough that is Pulse Myomere the roadrunner filled the niche of both racing mechs as well as fast combat mech.Appearance

The onboard systems of the RoadRunner Battle Frame.Integrated Jump Jets
The Roadrunner comes equipped with a set of four pressurized plasma chambers and matching vents in the legs. They can be used to perform jet assisted jump maneuvers or as air brakes to prevent hard landings, in addition to emergency reactor venting.Lightweight Frame Internal Skeleton
The Roadrunner uses a lighter weight version of the standard Reservoir internal frame, utilizing lighter alloys and composites in place of the usual heavier elements.Pulse Myomere
The Roadrunner is equipped with a new innovation in Frame musculature technology: paired sets of Myomere that respond to alternating current by contracting and relaxing opposed sets of muscles. When the Pulse Myomere Controller is off, only one set of muscles is actually contracting when current flows through it and relaxing when the current stops, like any other Frame. But when the controller is on, the current becomes constant, but is instead flipped between the two sets of muscle circuits, causing one set to contract as the other relaxes, thus moving the legs double time.Reinforced Leg Actuators
A problem with how much stress and strain the Pulse Myomere put on the Frame’s skeleton and actuators cropped up during the first prototyping phase of the new technology. As the Roadrunner was to be the testbed for this new technology the engineers had to devise several fixes for the problem. One of them was the fairly simple idea of taking actuators meant for a Puma, and stuffing them into the lower body and legs of this smaller frame, and then modifying the assembly for ease of replacement. The more durable Puma actuators are able to withstand the stresses of the Pulse Myomere on a lighter machine such as this for far greater stretches of time, reducing the threat of leg assembly failures from shearing, jamming, or warping. Even so, they must be replaced after a third as much usage time as normal, simply due to the wear and tear Pulse Myomere inflicts upon them, lest they break during combat.Armor
The Roadrunner arrives to the customer with only a thin aluminum alloy chassis for protection of the internals from the elements. It is up to the customer to properly armor it in the materials of their choice. The frame can support 7 tons of armor plating before it begins to impact mobility.Life Support
This frame has a standard airtight cockpit and life support setup, found on most Reservoir made Frames.Power
This frame is equipped with one of the new lightweight fusion reactors, and a fairly powerful one for the machine’s size. Realistically speaking, the designers stuck legs and a bit of chassis around a beefy reactor, and called it the Roadrunner. As a result, there’s almost no internal space left to work with, as the reactor eats all of it. A basic RTG serves as a primer for the reactor ignition system.Cooling System
The mech uses heatsinks mounted in and around the fusion reactor to store heat and radiators in the legs to shed more heat the faster the mech goes. This results in a bit of give and take, as the legs being submerged in cooling liquids vastly increases heat dissipation, but being anywhere near geothermal features has the opposite effect. These machines cannot operate in volcanic regions, at all, and they are easy to lock with thermal targeting and heat seeking munitions.Electronics and Control Systems
The RoadRunner uses an On-board AI systems suite to assist the pilot, easing his workload and making him/her much more effective in combat.
Computing
The heart of the On-board AI suite is a single cheap quantum processor, backed up by a single multi-core binary processor, all mounted in a box beneath the pilot seat. A pilot’s AI can be installed in the card slot in the center console.Sensors
