"My hands...I can feel traces of love!" - Museum of Forgotten Weapons Curator

The Midnight Morita Rifle is a bullpup assault rifle designed by Hilda "Midnight" Olander, and based off of an ancient Earth science fiction movie from the late 20th century. Though the movie in question was satirical in nature, the rifle is not. Made with transhumans like the Daqinren and cyborgs in mind, the combination weapon is hefty while sporting a smart-link which allows a proper user with compatible hardware to toggle controls and fire the weapon as long as they have physical contact. It features a combination of long barreled intermediate caliber assault rifle as its primary component, and a high-pressure 12 gauge pump-action shotgun that can fire large bore specialty munitions.

It is composed of a titanium alloy and carbon-fiber reinforced aerospace polymer body that feels very sturdy, and aerospace ceramics for the barrel; the latter will likely survive reentry.
  • Weight is 13.6 lbs (6.2 kg) when loaded
  • Length is 104 cm (3ft 5in)
  • 5.56x45mm Telescoped Polymer Case for its assault rifle weapon
  • 100 round quadruple stack magazines composed of carbon-fiber reinforced aerospace polymer are used by the rifle
  • 706 RPM (11.8 RPS) cycle rate for the assault rifle weapon
  • 12 gauge underbarrel weapon is rated for high pressure metallic case rounds; holds 8 +1 rounds
  • The underbarrel weapon is loaded through a combination ejection/loading port on the underside
  • Common shells include 00 buckshot, solid lead slugs, door breaching slugs, taser probes, adhesive tracking beacons and tranquilizer paintball shot
  • Uncommon shells include armor piercing U-238/tungsten sabot, barrel launched recon drone, explosive fragmentation
  • Rare shells include handloaded sabots containing 14.8mm GFK, 20x67mm Nùniǎo and similar analogs are known for their brutal recoil and equally brutal effects
