History
The co-operation agreement between the Magnetic Assembly and the HFR signed in 2323 led tot he Assembly's forces being embedded with HFR ground units to learn from them. This resulted in uncovering a deficiency in electronic warfare systems, as typically forces associated with the Assembly would be dealing with relatively low tech or radio-averse threats. One of the first pieces of equipment introduced to resolve was the short range MADS-325 radio jammer.
Initial production of the device was started both on New Cambridge in small amounts, and within the HFR through contracted production facilities. Local logistics companies were then used to bring the newly produced equipment to the Assembly's embedded personnel.
Usage
The MADS-325 generates short range radio jamming across all frequencies, and can be tuned so that it doesn't interfere with friendly radio traffic. The relatively high power requirements mean that the device is supposed to be reserved for when there is a danger of remote detonated explosives or small drones flying towards operator.
