Laika (Russian: Лайка) is a barren moon, named after the first animal to orbit Earth. It is largely unremarkable in its characteristics; with a low gravity and dusty exterior, it is comparable to Luna of Sol in appearance. The surface shows a long history of interaction with asteroids from the Pepelnitsa belt, leading to the hypothesis that Laika was once a dwarf planet residing there.
