K-PM2200
The Kalashnikov PM2200 was commissioned in 2200CE and is a very high tech version of a low-tech pistol. The pistol itself is stylized to be reminiscent of older models of the same chain, and has a minimal number of internal components optimized for reliability and ease of manufacture. This mechanically simple design is paired with advanced material science to make a weapon that can be expected to perform in the harshest environments of both earth and outer-space. The pistol also has a distinctively enlarged trigger and trigger guard making it easier to use while in a space suit.
The solid feel of the weapon and distinctive styling let a user know at a touch that the weapon was produced within the Soyuz.
History
The Cybernetic Revolution within the Soyuz produced a powerful counter-cultural response to adhere to tradition. The K-PM2200 seemed to come from that particular feeling of the importance of tradition. The design itself was created to remind its user of tradition first, with styling reminiscent of the iconic Makarov pistol with some slight updates to form factor and materials science.
This has allowed the weapon to remain in service for more than a century, with only slight updates to things like materials used and manufacturing methods. The K-PM2200 exudes the authority of the state, and is carried often more as a badge of office than as a practical weapon.

Layout
The pistol uses a highly conventional layout, with a magazine in the handle, a slide that can be used to charge the weapon/chamber the round, and a thumb safety switch on the back of the weapon.
The weapon system also has a clip-on system in the front that allows for various attachments to be added. Similarly a threaded barrel system can also be used, and alternate handgrips can include features such as a laser sight or a riser for an RDS.

Usage
The K-PM2200 is intended to be used as a backup weapon, to arm support troops that may not be entering combat, or for internal police work where a firefight is unlikely. It is also often used for cultural reasons, as the weight and iconography of the pistol are easily felt by users.
The weight of the pistol also serves as more than just a reminder of its quality, the heavier barrel and construction allow it to fire the high pressure 9mm Chromatic rounds, which give the pistol great stopping power up close and lower felt recoil than similar weapons. Often if combat is expected, a smart-round attachment is added and the pistol is configured to fire in three round bursts with exhaust gases from the first shot being used to aim the gun for the follow up shots.
