• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Henri is a Frenchman, born in Northern France in the Gemeinschaft der Welten on Earth. A man of average height and build, with no scars or distinguishing markings to speak of. Henri goes to great lengths to remain as nondescript, uninteresting, and forgettable as possible. In the profession of a thief, one does not wish to stand out or be noticed. Henri is an expert in stealth and sleight of hand, with passable aptitudes in hacking and lying. Along that vein, he prefers to avoid direct conflict, tending to duck dodge and weave rather than fight. Unfortunately for those of wealth, Henri's favorite pastime is to relieve them of their more valuable possessions. Naturally, this makes him quite adept at acquiring almost anything one would need, not just items of great monetary value.

Personality

Henri is a jokester, sarcastic, and sometimes downright sardonic. He carries himself with a certain confident arrogance typical of his origins, perhaps never saying so but certainly believing that he is the always the smartest and most capable man in the room. Not the selfless hero type, when the going gets tough and lives are on the line, Henri is as likely to cut his losses and run as he is to step up as the tough get going. Unless of course, there's profits to be made. Above all other motivations for Henri are two things: survival and money.

Appearance

  • Build: Lithe and fit, but neither particularly muscular nor particularly thin
  • Facial Features: Light blue eyes, a narrow face with prominent nose and chin
  • Hair Style: Light brown hair, styled in a short fade, slicked down and off to the side of his head
  • Distinguishing Features: No scars or other particular distinguishing features

History

Henri hails from Northern France on Earth, in what is now the Gemeinschaft der Welten. After reaching adulthood, and a short stint in the GDW's military, he took up a career in GDW Intelligence. It was there that he learned and refined his skills, becoming quite adept at covertly acquiring things of strategic value for the GDW. It wasn't long after that Henri began to think of himself as uniquely skilled and adept at what he does, and wasting away is expertise working for the government. During his operations for the government, he began to work for himself as well. He would pick up things of value or things of a sensitive nature in addition to completing his assigned missions, and sell them later on the black market through contacts he had gained throughout his career. Eventually, GDW Intelligence caught onto Henri's side gig and he was burned and blacklisted from working for them. With his Earthbound assets frozen and GDW Intelligence gunning for him, he fled from the planet of his birth to seek employment and wealth elsewhere, not to mention to secure his own survival.
