• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Omega is a 2nd Class Daqinren citizen goat form soldier played by DeltaCain.

Personality

Among other 2nd Class citizens, Omega is gregarious and quick-witted, known for his dry humor and talent for puns. He's most at ease around those like himself — people caught between the strata of Daqin society. Around First Class citizens and full-blood Daqinren, however, he becomes markedly subdued. He speaks less, avoids eye contact, and second-guesses his actions. There’s a tension in him — the child of 3rd Class parents who spent everything to elevate him beyond their station. Grateful but alienated, Omega quietly struggles with a sense of not belonging: too altered to return to his roots, too imperfect to rise further. He bears this quietly, with a professionalism that sometimes veils resentment.

Appearance

He stands at 5'11" with a lean yet solid build, carrying 200 pounds of wiry muscle that speaks to quiet strength rather than brute force. His fair skin contrasts subtly with his shaggy brown hair, which falls in uneven layers around his face, giving him a slightly disheveled yet intentional look. Clean-shaven, his facial features are sharp and youthful, with a focused intensity that draws attention. His brown eyes, usually calm and observant, possess an unusual trait — pupils that can constrict horizontally, not unlike a cat’s vertical slits, adding a faintly uncanny edge to his otherwise human appearance. Perhaps most striking of all are the prominent horns curving from his head the unmistakable tell of one of the horned Daqinren forms.

  • Build: Lean
  • Facial Features: Clean Shaven
  • Hair Style: Shaggy brown hair
  • Distinguishing Features: Horns, pupils that can constrict horizontally (similar to the way cats constrict their pupils to vertical slits).

Daqinren Abilities

Omega has all of the standard Daqinren abilities granted by the gene enhancement such as enhanced cognition, skeletal-muscular density, etc. Though as a second class these transhuman abilities do not come naturally to Omega and are often invoked clumsily except through concurrent and continuous training.
From the Goat Form:
  • Capridae concussion resistance
  • Expanded peripheral vision
  • Terrain maneuverability enhancement
  • Improved gastro-intestinal processes
  • Enhanced Stamina

History

Born to third class parents who saved enough to pay for the transformation of their only son into Daqinren, Omega. Named Quan xanh at birth, received a new name after his transformation. Born into a 3rd Class household, Omega Hejian is the product of sacrifice. His parents poured their limited resources into securing a Daqinren transformation for their only child, hoping to buy him a better future. The result was a life split between tiers — never fully accepted by either class, and never allowed to forget the price that was paid for his elevation.

Skills

  • "Jack of all trades, master of none"
    • Omega seems to be able to pick the general skills of most trades rather quickly, however, which has proven to be really handy in pinch crisis scenarios. However, the work, post examination is often littered with minor mistakes and imperfections that a practitioner of the same craft would never make. Good enough for function in most cases, but not for form or inspection.

Traits

  • Scatterbrained some days
  • hyper-focused on others
  • calm in a crisis.
