• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

The Bad Dog series of robots includes a number of different designs that have been created and updated over the last two decades. The drone is lightly armed, and can carry about as much as a person can.

General Information

History

The Original Bad Dog drone was deployed for deep space mining work in 2218 It was designed to travel short distances in zero G, and carry equipment around in the same areas that human workers occupied. It often included a single arm, an RCS thruster assembly, and four legs. The robot has enough capacity to hold the tools and equipment that someone might need to complete their mining work. Over the years the drone would continued to be improved upon, and used for a variety of support roles with its capabilities kept about the same while its range, carrying capacity, and responsiveness improved upon.

About

The Bad Dog drone generally consists of a single mechanical arm and four legs. There are a range of different optics that server as the robot’s eyes, and a number of different manipulator arms that can be used for the appendage. More recently this has included a variety of different weapon systems, though more commonly a grabber hand of some-type is attached.
