• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

The Reclaimers

The Reclaimers are an underground Aos Si organization helmed by Lord Wang Dai, an ancient Aos Si who lived prior to the collapse of interstellar Aos Si society, who is now biding his time as a humble corporate head in human society. The Reclaimers have two ultimate goals. To "reclaim" old Aos Si technology, and to "reclaim" Aos Si territory now occupied by humans, on Lihana, which the humans have named Zhuque.

Early on, there was debate on whether or not to seek official aid from the two primary ethnic groups of Aos Si on the planet, the Erinuns and the Ethunins, which have now formed their own, large empires in diverging fashions. However, the idea was ultimately shot down, as it was deemed too risky, attracting too much attention from the humans. Thus, the Reclaimers operate secretly, webbing out from their home base in the Ethunin Hierarchy to seek shadowy supporters across the planet, such as the Goedwish anti-human resistance, the Black House.

For now, the Reclaimers seek to create persistent, small-level conflict on the planet to distract the major powers, while they research old artifacts in peace, looking for an opportunity, a game changer, that is capable of overthrowing human hegemony in the system.

"When you wield sole power from the heavens, you get to call yourself an angel, and condemn everyone else as demons."

The Reclaimers are cynical atheists, having observed first hand the capabilities humans wield as they arrived from foreign stars. Unlike most other Aos Si, the Reclaimers don't believe in a god, or a pantheon, or any spiritual being for that matter. To the Reclaimers, these aliens have demonstrated that the Aos Si gods are incapable of protecting them, either limited in power, clairvoyance, or morality, which makes them not gods; or non-existent altogether. To the Reclaimers, might makes right, and at the moment, humans wield all the power.

Such cynicism, abandonment of faith make Reclaimers amoral, lacking in any restraint in methodology. The ends justify the means. Only with supremacy in might can the Aos Si even discuss moral and virtue in the first place. The amoral nature of the Reclaimers is what makes them comfortable with manipulating their fellow Aos Si, creating distractions through war, all towards the eventual goal of removing humans from the planet.

Naturally, the atheism is kept an absolute secret, to prevent the draw of ire from their religious, at least spiritual, brethren. Reclaimers infiltrate Aos Si governments and tribal leadership with gritted teeth as they're forced to partake in what they deem meaningless tradition.
