• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

The fence's form was ambiguous, nearly letting Gwaed's hand go through it. There was a split second of delay, before the Aos Si felt the wire fence unconfidently bounced back against his skin, only when he thought how a fence should react to impact. Vita's exploration was equally perplexing...

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

Aithlin friendily waved Gwaed off. "Lady Yvresse is justified to be curious. It is a simple ritual of reclamation. We have done so for multiple locations in Erinun territory, locations that were lost or buried during the global civil wars, then the human conquests. What the High Priest is doing...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"We should just vent her, just like the rest of them." Wen typed away at the console, making sure they met the periodic security check. He pinged his own catch that he stowed away in a storage room, though said little else. He'd go back and check on her, making sure she was dead, if the vacuum...

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

The High Priest let out an audible hmmph, looking back at the map of the site. After more murmurs from his entourage, he spoke up, Aithlin declaring in Mandarin, pointing at the large room in the basement, where the spherical frame was located. "This room here, it seems to carry special...

    Ground Vehicles and Active Protection

I like the idea of distributing dumb, automatic tasks to a drone fleet, with a manned mothership. I had this battle doctrine imagined where you have a multirole, manned command tank/armored vehicle, perhaps specializing more in communication and situational awareness, protected by a fleet of...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"Go do that." Wen remarked to Jun in VR as he stepped up to a console, pushing away a corpse, looking at the controls. "Lady Hoshiko and I are too far away." He then remarked to Koyama. "Be advised, Lady Koyama, I'm shutting off the carbon dioxide vents and opening up all the doors.... now. It...

    Space Age Imperialism

The primary idea I want to explore on Zhuque, is how does the arrival of a space faring superpower impact the society and culture of a pre-industrial people who are deeply environmentalist? Would we see similar conflicts during our own Imperialist Age, with the Chinese and the Japanese, or does...

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

As Aithlin translated Amisra's and Gwaed's words back to the priests in Erinun, there were murmurs amongst them. The High Priest listened to his advisors, calmly watching over Amisra and Gwaed, like a patient bird of prey. The subtle Aos Si facial expressions were lost to the humans in the room...

    The Reclaimers

"When you wield sole power from the heavens, you get to call yourself an angel, and condemn everyone else as demons." The Reclaimers are cynical atheists, having observed first hand the capabilities humans wield as they arrived from foreign stars. Unlike most other Aos Si, the Reclaimers don't...

    The Reclaimers

The Reclaimers are an underground Aos Si organization helmed by Lord Wang Dai, an ancient Aos Si who lived prior to the collapse of interstellar Aos Si society, who is now biding his time as a humble corporate head in human society. The Reclaimers have two ultimate goals. To "reclaim" old Aos Si...

    ???

2321, some point Northern Gui Continent, Commonwealth of the Dawn territory An old Aos Si, tanned through the ages, strolled across an empty beach, alone. He sat on a mobility scooter, fully clothed in white human garments with blue embroideries. His greyed hair was tied back in a bun, eyes...

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

"Honor to the Black House. See to the High Priest enter the ruins. The ritual must complete." A terse message rolled across Fioda's HUD, visible only to her. It was a gibberish mess, a language that her electronics failed to represent, but that was par for the course, and it worked in her...

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

The High Priest spoke in his native tongue. "Now that we've introduced ourselves. Let us get to the matter at hand. Needless to say, this newfound shrine is of great importance to the Temple of Praui Nimloth. Its existence demonstrates our ancestors' great favor from the natural gods, allowing...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"I don't care care for the Lie'Min, but we need those electronics intact." Wen remarked, switching out his own magazine. In their shared virtual space, he walked over to Lady Koyama, dragging a copy of her project, sifting through it to find what he was looking for: a security camera view of the...

    UES Government Structure

The UES is a Constitutional Theocracy, with the Temple of Praui Nimloth being social, religious, and culturally ruling body, while the UES Parliament taking charge of economic and military affairs. Officially, at the top of UES power is the Arch Bishop, who grants power to the UES Parliament...

Day in the Life: Aos Si Ruins on Jing

"Your constituents, Professor Li, they must be very proud of you, Gentleman Hewyllys." Bukang smiled knowingly. He knew better than to poke the pride of an Aos Si, espeacially Gwaed's, having heard of his interactions with the aging professor, mentor to them both. Still, the Aos Si's a Member of...

"Mu'niu (female cattle) has the right idea." Wen nodded, tapping his card on the scanner a couple of times before giving up. "These Lie'min (inferior peasants) are being stubborn. We should just make it easier for both of us and put them out of their misery. Just space the entire ship; it'll...

A light blinked on Bukang's HUD, and he responded by eyeing it. "Hello? You have comms." He started, turning his back against the Aos Si. "So soon..." The human muttered, with a small disappointment. "... Well, they did warn us." "... Yeah, they're standing right next to me." "... Right...

Wen paused his advance, anchoring himself to one of the walls. Calmly, he turned back, facing the two soon-to-be corpses. "Dumbasses, don't even know their own ship." He muttered, firing three rounds at the humans, two of them making impact with grey matter. With a snort, he turned back around...
