SA-TD5 is a tactical device intended to be attached to a weapon system that provies a range of fire control, observation, and effector options for a soldier.

The SA-TD5 is primarily used as a sighting and fire control system to improve first hit probability for the standard soldier. It is equiped with a range of sensors from laser range finders, radar, infrared, and optical systems, which generates a picture for the soldier to view through the augmented reality optic.

The TD5 also includes a range of other features that can be configured wirelessly or by connecting a datapad beforehand. Similarly a datapad can be mounted on the weapon system and used as a touchscreen for control. The more advanced features are considerably less popular as the traditional AU soldier just 'wants to shoot things'.

These additional features include automated control of the trigger, so that the weapon will only fire when a hit is assured. Similarly the weapon can be set to automatically try and blind targets with either a high powered strobe or a laser weapon intigrated into the device. Data from the device is also recorded onboard, and can be distributed or viewed as needed.
