Sun Wen, or just Wen, is a head strong bull-form of common birth who quickly rose through his academic and military career due to his intelligence, relentless energy, and patriotism. However, ever since he obtained the rank of Captain and obtained his own corvette to command, he faced a stone wall in his advancement due his outspoken nature, angering his superior officers. Now, he carries catonite in his heart due to an accident on a mission, and largely serves as Princess Hoshiko's escort and tactical officer.

Wen is fanatically loyal to the Empire, and will rationalize anything to justify the supremacy of the Daqinren. He is especially loyal to the Mother Empress, and will often cast blame on other senior officers for any failures that are sourced from the leadership. As a result, he has very few friends in high places who will vouch for him.

In general, Wen is outspoken and prone to anger. He won't hesitate to criticize the perceived failings of his teammates on a mission, or make harsh judgements regarding any state of affairs.

During technical operations, by contrast, he is calm and collected, willing to take cold, calculated risks as necessary. He is tactically, strategically, and technically proficient, thanks to his relentless education and training, along his zeal for the "greater good" of the Daqinren.
