The Xùnjié Fēng (迅捷風), or "Swift Wind" class space ship is employed by the Diguo Junshi of the Empire of Daqin in 2309 CE, making it a relatively new ship design despite already being a mainstay of the navy. Small, fast, nimble and very multi-role capable due to its wide selection of armaments and equipment, the Swift Wind can be found acting independently, working with others of its kind in a wolf pack, or escorting much larger vessels.
OOC Notes
- Need to figure out a proper name for this thing. Most of the gear has been very typical in the naming scheme, so maybe something a bit more special for the ships. Probably proper, more elegant sounding classes and so forth since the Daqin are actually acutely aware that it's the ships that matter the most.
- Though small, fast, nimble, multirole, it's still an important ship meant to operate in wolf-packs or to screen and protect larger vessels
- Probably about 100-120m in length
- Wide selection of weapons, flexible
- 60-80 crew similar to contemporaries from Earth, but unlike them, the crew is mostly marines due to lower crew requirement to keep the ship running
- Lasers for point defense
- Gauss and laser guns for ship to ship combat in order to maintain flex
- Several missile batteries for anti-fighter work despite other nations not having them beyond prototypes yet
- Two torpedo tubes for anti-ship work
- Drone bay to deploy support units
- Two fighters for recon/special ops or two shuttles
- Main gun is a spinally mounted particle accelerator, large for its size
