History

In 2309 the S1 Series Starship was developed, initiating a radical change in style and technology that would start to permeate through The Magnetic Assembly and the American Union. This new focus on modularity would push further down in the design than ever before, with the focus going far beyond just 'mission-modules' and all the way down to individual components. This push included a range of missile modules, clamps, and other devices used to hold missiles against a starship with the end goal being allowing a starship to house far more than just missiles in launch boxes.

Of course, missiles were still needed.

In addition to developing a modular missile system with a range of payloads, propulsion, and sensors, Heram Wazu would also develop a hot-launch system that could use the missiles inside of a standard cargo container. While basic, the system also houses radiation protection for the missiles as well as automated monitoring to ensure the missile is ready to go even after years of storage.

The ease of use, development, storage, and upgrading of these systems would quickly make this size and form factor the defacto standard in the Human Sphere for missile systems.

Layout

The container has a simple design with two missile bays, each taking up half the width of the container. The missile bays are square, with the rest of the space along the sides used as a redirection-vent so that the missile exhaust is pushed out and 'away' from whatever ship is housing the missile container.

Exterior display lights also can be enabled to show if the doors are open, and if the missile inside has been launched.
