• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

As of 12/27/20, Edto is the Web Master, Ray of Meep is the Community Manager, CadetNewb is the Setting Developer.

The Setting Developer, CadetNewb, has final say on all matters when it comes to the setting. If you have disagreements with other staff regarding setting elements, appeal to CadetNewb. His yes or no is the ultimate one that matters for the plots and the setting. All other Staff opinions are made moot once CadetNewb weighs in.

The Site Manager, Edto, handles all finances and background infrastructure. Most importantly here is the legality of media. If there is any question regarding money, copyright, etc., the Site Manager has the final say.

The Community Manager, Ray of Meep, takes care of all interpersonal disputes, primarily on Discord. However, the necessity for new community managers has been identified, and an election will be held from 1/9/21 to 1/11/21 for additional community managers.

As of 2/8/21, due to factors beyond this community, CadetNewb is temporarily Setting Developer in name only, with no expected involvement in administration. Setting Developer duties are temporarily given to Ray of Meep and PaladinGreco.

Community Moderators have the following responsibilities:
  • To keep community discussions civil through technical moderation tools, communication skills, and the ethos that the position carries
  • To make stopgap rulings on problems when current rules don’t provide a straightforward answer
  • To participate in staff discussions when drafting new rules, balancing the needs of the community and the needs of staff when providing opinions.

Community managers are community moderators with admin powers. A community member can seek appeal of staff decisions and send it up the chain to the community manager.
