• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama's physical body had been casually flipping through channels, mostly news reports, financials, even taking a moment to delight at their 'anime' as it was called. Of course those like her species were usually the bad guys. Even so, it was humorous in its way. But that simulacrum in VR...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama's gaze had marked the twitch of Hoshiko's tail, the princess only giving her an expressionless look. And even as the other Daqin woman felt things click into place she nodded. 'I am glad you caught on as well.' she crossed one leg over the other. The tip of her tail swayed lazily. She...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama leaned forward, while part of her had remained in the space for meat sacks, and the other in the virtual reality pocket her eyes widened in both places. Even tossing the virtual and real towel. Its non-physical counterpart smacking into Hoshiko. At least here it didn't smell like whatever...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama had made for her room as soon as she had been able. The terrible stench and dress were discarded across the room. And as soon as the shower had grown steamy stepped inside. Afterward and a change into something fresh gave her a chance to answer. 'Yes, I'm here.' came the terse response...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama could only feel some small sense of satisfaction. She hadn't intended to stir the pot with her talk of 'tiny railguns' but the brief, oh so genuinely humorous thought crossed her mind and what it could imply. Although the man would find a bit of relief, if not the kind he may have wanted...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama spun drunkenly around, the effluvia of humanity swarming around her like a tide. A few times she had to petulantly smack a man or woman who thought they could get a covert squeeze in. Or try to yank her along in their direction. It was never hard enough to kill but enough to get the point...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama let forth a shrill yell of protest. The damned stripper had taken one of her shoes just as the warning from Jun had arrived. But what seemed to grab her attention the most, beyond someone being physically abused by a stack of Gao Bi bills was the rancid, gut-wrenching stench that...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama jostled her way forward as she followed the tiger-print clad 'stripper'. All the while wondering if somehow she could get cat puns outlawed. Punishable even. Seeing the situation develop with bra-bills being stuffed down a human's throat. Then wondering if it'd be resolved, the princess...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama nibbled at the pepper's flesh having gone quiet as the cat puns continued to roll forth. She'd begun keeping a tally. 'Fake W.A.P, virii, trojans. Malware. A DDoS, bait, and switch.' again she cleared her throat at the little bit of pepper. Her cheeks flushing just a little more deeply...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama's cheeks had warmed from their alabaster tone to a slight pink flush. Making one's self appear as if low-grade alcohol could get them shitfaced so soon was a true staple of the human race. Their tolerances varied. With their inefficient kidneys and livers, it was a wonder how tap water...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama's expression soured as she wiped at her lips with the napkin. The drink was half gone. Looking to the babbling cow expectantly, then down at her drink she fished a banknote out waggling it. Seemed she wanted another. 'Slow down, Holstein. The scumbag was using a tablet and you just...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama offered the Daqin disguised as a bartender a grateful smile. Turned it on the man and acted as if she knew what a 'Firespin' wasn't. The plum-dressed woman seemed to ponder this as she brought the highball to her lips. Unflinchingly letting the whipped cream leave a little mustache to...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

The Daiqin princess in disguise allowed herself an all too unbecoming smile at the code phrase. Continuing to play the role, and while her immediate response would have been to snap his ulna, radius, and humerus like twigs. Then every fingerbone now curled about her body... Koyama turned her...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama, under the guise of one of these... humans had borne a little sway to her hips as she moved slowly through the throng of the crowd. It was a test of her will to not wrinkle her nose, nor attempt to gouge an eye out of one of them as they appraised her. The short-statured Daqinren woman...
