• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Wen was still wary of directly entering the water. He eyed Hoshiko, sympathizing with her desire to shoot something in this space, anything. However, at the same time, he felt an odd sensation he hasn't felt in quite some time: calmness. He maglocked his gyrojet rifle to his hip, then knelt on...

"I'll take the van'." Wen would send his drones down to secure a beachhead. With the risk of being shot on sight lowered with his bats patrolling around, the Ox-form readied his rifle, then leapt down onto the fungoid platform. He quickly scanned around for any hostiles, taking special note of...

Wen was always ready, in a tactical combat environment anyways. This was his canvas. Despite having been reduced to the rank of Ensign, he carried on his tasks as if nothing happened at all. Instinctively, he laid out a 3D map of their surroundings, then stepped forward as their team's vanguard...

"I don't trust you." Wen growled, crossing his arms in his wheelchair, still getting used to his legs having grown back underneath him. "An elven princess, dragons, archangels, we aren't stupid human fantasy quest-fetchers." He protested. "Why is a mind-shattered boy given this much ability to...

Wen's eyes widened, not at the Aos Si's ability to quickly regenerate his limbs, though that was something to consider for later; by the reappearance of the archangel. "That will not be necessary, evangelist." Wen growled. It was an insult, hearkening back to humanity's dark days of religious...

Wen was seemingly unbothered by the demotion. After all, he had to suffer the humiliation of assigned to pirate work, then shoved into a dead end job in the middle of nowhere on a small asteroid. Another demotion was par for the course nowadays. He'll climb back up, eventually. Time was on his...

"I attacked an 'angel', a messenger of the gods." Wen replied truthfully. "It acted with insolence towards my fellow Daqinren, thus I retaliated in kind." He then mentally uploaded his suit's sensor data to the Imperial intelligence database, awaiting for acceptance. "Despite my best efforts, it...

IDS Yīnghuā - Log 3.0: "...make him believe you are close."

Wen's eyes went blank while his body tried to understand what just happened. His internals and body suit worked at the same time: his suit quickly shrunk to seal off the bleeding from his arm and leg stumps. Adrenaline and painkillers pumped through his veins to maintain rational thought, what...

Just as Hoshiko's anger dissipated, Wen's fury rose. He was briefly humiliated by this creature freezing his body in place, and for a few seconds, he withheld his firearm and adhered to the will of his liege, listening to this messenger drone on, letting Reina ask questions. But for the second...

As Aitana interrogated the young Aos Si, Wen stepped up towards the Archangel, a hand on his own rifle. He wasn't bothered by the Archangel's size. If it followed avian biology, especially if Catonite didn't change the mass of objects, it was still a frail bird-shaped thing that could be broken...

"Well, we did learn one crucial piece of information." Wen remarked, "Catonite can't change mass. We always knew that it has nigh-magical properties, but this inherent property being acknowledged already makes this mission a success. I strongly recommend we either disengage from this meeting...

Wen silently took note of Princess Hoshiko's emotional vulnerability, but otherwise didn't comment on it. Instead, he took a step in front of her to minimize the display in front of the Aos Si. Meanwhile, in virtual space, Wen shook his head and put a hand over fist to Hoshiko. "Princess, I...

"It's going to continue to spout nonsense until one of two things occur," Wen observed. "One, we follow the Aos Si and give this thing catonite or magic, which is what this thing wants, and as we've established, the Aos Si are morons." "Two, we shoot this thing in the head. To equate to...

"It is literally a messenger," Wen came to an apathy, but grumbled at his thought. "The worst kind: an American capitalist advertiser. These Aos Si morons are paying a subscription fee: every moon, it gives them dribbles of information, for who knows how much catonite in return. Mother Empress...

"These Aos Si are idiots." Wen turned to Reina and commented. "They sent a child on a diplomatic mission. Look at him. He's fraying at the seams, and Nimue doesn't seem intent on helping. The Aos Si are disunited. We should exploit their weaknesses. Princess Hoshiko, if you want to offer them...
