Designed to gather valuable real-time data on hidden enemies, they are deployed in large numbers with the intent to collect information as a swarm, as well as to do so stealthily as individual units. Visually, TRDs are roughly the size of a baseball, and resemble dark grey-black spheres with multiple sensory 'eyes' facing in every direction. In order to provide accurate tactical data on enemy locations, movements and capabilities, the units are assigned to squads and fly through the battlefield in search of opposing forces. Though equipped with visual, thermal and radar systems, the drones are modular in construction and often include units which have more specialized systems on board such as x-ray scanning and graviton detection systems to augment their abilities. For a drone, its AI is complex, enabling it to assist users by intelligently scouting, but can also be directed or manually controlled wirelessly as an extension of the average Daqinese soldier's body. When in use, an omni-directional graviton repulsor system allows the units to move quickly and erratically to avoid enemy fire. Collected data is streamed back to users, and can be commanded by neural interface should the individual have command authority over them.
