Six Cog

Sixcog, also known as 'six bit cognition', is a written and digital intelligence language developed by the The Magnetic Assembly. It sounds like a horrid beeping feedback loop when played as audio.

The language gets its name from all of the characters being able to be displayed from a 2×3 grid of pixels or LED lights.

History

Sixcog was originally developed to send visual images extremely long distances using just six lamps, a cheap and stealthy way for space miners to communicate with one another. It turned out to be perfect for use by deep space mining robots, who often lack overly complex and pointless ship recognition technology. This also made them relatively safe from hacking, because the human owner could simply remember the pattern in their head, and only write it down when they absolutely needed access.

As cybernetically enhanced individuals started to work directly with the robots in person, this personal access code started to become almost as spiritually important as the person's given name. It is the only name by which drone robots will ever communicate with them, machines that might be their only companions during long months of solitude.

It could said to be a major turning point in the religion, when organics began using these literal secret sixcog code names to refer to each other, even in person. Even if a person walks around with it on their space suit or skin, technically giving strangers the ability to communicate with their personal drones, it takes another member of the Magnetic Assembly to actually understand this sign of trust.
