The American Union considers this ammunition a modernization of the venerable 5.56x45mm NATO, updated with a polymer case and telescoping design while maintaining the use of ball powder and reliable primer technology. As a result, Congressional approval for development and procurement of the 5.56x45mm Telescoped Polymer Case round was easy in comparison to procuring an entirely new ammunition. The ammunition however, is in fact a new ammunition designed specifically for its ease of procurement and ability to bypass obstructive laws as well as equally obstructive members of both House and Senate. This 'secret' is something that even gun owning members of the House and Senate have difficulty understanding and label as "fake news".
  • The projectile has a flat trajectory, low recoil and is known for its accuracy, but is considered anemic when attempting to disable transhumans and highly augmented cyborgs, or ablate armor; double tapping is encouraged
  • Weight is reduced by roughly 50%! Volume is reduced by roughly 25%!!![1]
  • Due to advancements in armor, using twice as much ammunition on a target is recommended
  • Ball Rounds are composed of a visibly lacquered hardened steel tip penetrator, a lead core and copper jacket
  • Ball rounds fragment or break apart inside tissue and often cause lead poisoning; an all-copper environmentally friendly round was considered too "woke"
  • Armor Piercing (AP) rounds are primarily composed of depleted uranium with a copper jacket and on impact; against hard targets, they will light on fire and maintain shape due to the hardened U-238 alloy's self-sharpening properties
  • AP rounds are considered by regulators as only "mildly toxic" due to the hardened U-238 alloy penetrator
  • Incendiary Tracer (IT) rounds have a pyrotechnic charge at the base to make its trajectory visible, while an incendiary compound ignites the impact area
  • IT rounds include white phosphorus in their composition to "own the libs" that had accused the American Union of using white phosphorus on military personnel and civilians
  • Used by the M46D and Midnight Morita Rifles
