• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

DOTA with capital ships in space. Sadly the game is no longer available but their Youtube channel is still up. They have a lot of neat ship designs (and a few bafflingly terrible ones) that are worth looking at though.

Literally the flagship for the whole game, and a big source of inspiration for the statesmen, the USR Colossus:

Another fantastic design, if only they had made it tower style... The Gladiator is a fantastic design for a broadside ship, lots of properly angled guns, a slim profile, well armored along the direction of attack. Plus it has a sleek overall asthetic:

The Watchman, a classic Railgun stick design:

And my boy, the Raider. Aesthetically the design is only ok. It looks like a space cargo-boat that had guns slapped on it but mechanically it had the best gameplay out of all of them. It does everything and can win any one on one fight with a little finesse:

The whole ship guide is here:

I should do something about the crew options next... Fractured space had a ton of creative options from killer sphere-robot-captains to genetically engineered housecats to people, dolphins, and sacks of bones.
