• Nobles of Null is a forum based roleplay site where sci-fi and magic collide. Here, Earth remains fractured and divided despite humanity reaching out to the stars. Worse still, the trans-human slaves of one major power have escaped, only to establish their own Empire, seething with resentment at abuses of the past. Even the discovery of aliens, though medieval in development, has failed to rally these squabbling children of Earth together with its far darker implications. Worse still, is the discovery of the impossible - magic. Practiced by the alien locals, nearly depleted and therefore rare, its reality warping abilities remains abstract and distant to the general populace. All the while, unseen in the darkness of space, forces from without threaten to press in. For those with eyes opened by insight, it is clear that an era is about to end, and that a new age will dawn.

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"Huh," came Koyama's response echoing Hoshiko, via her virtual avatar as she watched the human floating and burning alive. Thankful for her helmet in meatspace. But in this virtual world, she had participated in the pirate antics as well. Briefly wondering if somehow, somewhere, something a...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"Just a re-run of the Battle of Hefei." Koyama stated dismissively at Hoshiko's remark about their choice in television shows. "The third one. I think. This is a shoddy production anyway. Actors are terrible and they cut out half of it." her fleshy body sniffed at this. Her virtual avatar then...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama gave Hoshiko a side-long glance. She wouldn't trust her with a delicate task like engineering as far as she could throw her. And while that was pretty fucking far. Still wouldn't. "I'll take engineering. Jun can play shoot the humans. And not the reactor. I lock the place down you and Wen...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"Half an hour?" Koyama murmured in the virtual space while squinting at the picture. Soyuz technology, rather rugged, is built for long life and is easy to replace or repair. She wanted to spin around in her seated position. Even as her physical form went about its task with quiet efficiency. "I...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama had wondered what fresh hell had been unleashed on Wen's virtual space. Zombies, Kashmir goats of war, ancient human weapons. For a short while, all she could do was observe Hoshiko's initial responses with a shrewd eye once magic had been mentioned before finally joining in the havoc. At...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama had still been dealing with the goat as zombies cropped up. With Jun bashing one apart with her club rifle, and Wen following suit, the princess finally looked up. A frown forming and brow creased. "What is that, ancient twentieth-century firearms? Twenty-first?" her voice dripping...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama deadpanned as she saw Hoshiko disappear, "Oh Mother, what have I unleashed on that Ox." she murmured before joining the Cow and Tigeress in Wen's version of the Mongolian grasslands. While the other princess posed in her improvised mobile suit of... tin cans, the one Wen tossed to one of...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama waved Hoshiko's words away, "Bié dān xīn," accompanying it with a shrug. Her eyes tracked the T-posing Jun seemingly fascinated by her dedication to maintaining it. "And thanks," murmuring that while tilting her head at the Cow-form. Thankfully the horns were not drifting toward the...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"Huh," Koyama remarked as she soon seemed to appear beside the still armored Hoshiko in the sim her hands on wider hips. She stood an inch taller than herself in meatspace. Yet instead of the blue-black hair, the hallmark tiger's furred ears and tail. Or even the armor, Koyama appeared gold...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"Then the doctor should have petitioned for their right to the citizenry." Koyama stated matter of factly, "It may have been possible, however, you say he was of such independent thought?" with a few taps on the side of her helmet she sighed, "I am guessing the Doctor could afford but a Class A...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

If it were possible for soundwaves to travel in space, then it would have been in that moment as the lights had flashed in a warning. There was a thud against a viewport, and the sound of skin sliding against the glass. A human in a jumpsuit, a far-off look in their eyes that in a pressurized...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama stared into Hoshiko's blue eyes with her golden ones, "I thought it would be obvious," a look of disappointment marring her expression. She had no prior military experience until after being strong armed into volunteering. And seemed straight from court, "Born into my position and groomed...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama's tone changed considerably as did her body language. Her poise was more refined, dignified. "And you speak out of turn," she countered in an even tone. She rolled her hand, "And lower your eyes in our presence by doing so. Your intentions may be sensible, even with a hint of noble...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama looked to the deck, eyed Hoshiko, and scowled, she had named it Flashy. Not 'Cyberdeck'. The princess was a bit of a technophile and enjoyed naming things she worked with. It was an odd thing, but one she kept to herself mostly. With the freighter out of her hand in virtual space, and Wen...

Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

"I've done the sims," Koyama answered soberly in response to Hoshiko and a clear indicator that meatspace hadn't happened. "As for a distress signal, get me a connection to their systems." the bodysuit clung tight, now fiddling with the helmet absently. "I can take care of their systems on the...

"I know how they work. Not fly them," came Koyama's response to Hoshiko's query and Wen's in turn as she floated cross-legged, upside down. She stroked where her ears would be, feeling for that felt-like texture and finding herself wanting. With a grumble, the young woman had casually pulled off...

Koyama gave Hoshiko a placid expression as the other tigress became excitable. She rolled a hand, fingers flexing as Jun asked a profound cow-form question...

"Not at all," Koyama, sounded a little resigned still took Wen's words in stride. She was little known at court, beyond a prideful, arrogant demeanor. Day in the Life: Escape from the Heavenly State

Koyama listened, pacing back and forth as she looked at the glittering map of the system. She had been laying on her bed in the meaty space of reality a hand over her eyes. Koyama nodded.," A screen?" she questioned the man while her eyes fixated on the dots and what they each represented. Not taking her eyes off the in-system map, she paced around it to stand beside the female Ox. "This has covert possibility, look at the rotations. A barrier as much as cover...
