This is my Mandibles Into Flesh character. An even-headed young man with a slight sarcastic side, Rafael may be green when it comes to the military, but he witnessed enough as a child growing up on the streets to not blink in the sight of hardship. He's joined the CSC as a combat medic in hopes of becoming a doctor after his enlistment in order to support his family.

Rafael is more on the quieter side, but anyone who spends time with him knows it's not from shyness or insecurity, but rather because Rafael knows when it's important to shut-up. He has a very contradictory personality. Rafael saw a lot of terrible things as a kid growing up in an area dominated by drugs and gang violence, and in tense situations, Rafael is able to turn off his emotions and get the job done. When away from combat, however, Rafael lets more of his snarky and pessimistic attitude show through. He's also an incredibly caring and sensitive individual, taking on the burdens of others and worrying about the people close to him constantly (but never admitting it out-loud).

Rafael has a constantly tired expression on his face, even when he's well-rested (which is never). It's rare to see him smile, and he can look a little scary when focusing.

• Build: Rafael has an athletic build due to his military training, but his body type is slimmer rather than beefy.
• Facial Features: Rafael has a squarish jaw and hooded eyes with a bit of scruff on his chin.
• Hair Style: Rafael has messy, shoulder-length black hair that he keeps pulled back in a low ponytail. Despite how it looks, he takes very good care of his hair and is proud of the effortless look he's perfected.
• Distinguishing Features: Rafael has a beauty mark on the bottom-left hand corner of his mouth.

Born in Marbella, Spain, to impoverished parents Gabriella and Marcos Romero, Rafael grew up in the roughest parts of the city. He witnessed the effects of gang warfare and rampant drug trafficking since a young age. Although gifted in school, Rafael also had to juggle the responsibilities of taking care of his four younger siblings while his parents worked multiple jobs as well as a part-time job of his own. Rafael worked hard in his studies so that he could enter the CSC as a combat medic, hoping that an enlistment in the military will help him get into medical school so he can become a doctor and support his family. After completing training, Corporal Romero had a few months stint at the Fabron Station in the Stahl Belt before getting transferred to a unit investigating the disappearance of the colony planet Eos.

Skills are things that they are either talented at or are practiced at doing. Maybe the character is a great cook, or a master sharpshooter. They could have medical skills of some sort, maybe field medic ability but not surgeon level stuff. In the end of the day, listing the skill and then following it up with some details or specifics would be ideal.
