Nanomachines
Nanotechnology is widespread and common throughout humanity, though not in the once-imagined 'universal nanomachine'. Nanomachines are usually programmable single-or-dual-purpose devices, used for simple-yet-precise operations such as construction, medicine, or nano-material synthesis.
anomachines are especially important in the latter category, able to form precise alloys and other low-tolerance materials essential to science in the 24th century.
